We run AI Label Remover on real image files — from ChatGPT, Adobe, Nikon and Truepic, and files signed with the official C2PA SDK — and check every result with tools that share no code with ours. Download any file below and check it yourself.

How we test
Each file is cleaned twice by the same code that runs in your browser — once with All metadata and once with AI markers only — and each cleaned copy must pass four independent checks:
The official C2PA SDK (c2pa-python, built on the C2PA Rust library 0.91.3) finds no Content Credentials.
ExifTool 12.76 and Pillow find no GPS location, no AI digital source type and no AI tool names — and, with All metadata, no EXIF, XMP or IPTC at all (only the orientation tag is kept, so photos stay upright).
With AI markers only, the camera details are still there.
Pillow 13.0.0 and pillow-heif decode exactly the same pixels as from the original.
Results from the cleaner at commit 07d4f83. The JSON report next to each file is the same report the tool gives you.

ChatGPT image as downloaded: PNG with a C2PA manifest signed by OpenAI (created by ChatGPT, trainedAlgorithmicMedia, converted, watermarked); no EXIF or XMP

Watermarks. The ChatGPT image’s own Content Credentials record that it was watermarked. That watermark is part of the pixels, so it is still there after cleaning — as with Google’s SynthID.
Platform labels. We test what is in the file, not whether a platform shows a label: platforms also run their own checks and use what you disclose.
Validity. Some C2PA test files carry deliberately broken credentials (an invalid signature, a tampered assertion). Cleaning removes credentials whether or not they are valid.
Every app. This is a small, growing set. More files from real apps are being added.
Found a file that doesn’t clean properly? Email support@ai-label-remover.com — if you can share it, we’ll add it to the tests.
Licences
The C2PA conformance test files come from the C2PA public test files (Adobe, Nikon, Truepic) under CC BY-SA 4.0; their cleaned copies and reports are shared under the same licence. All other files were made by us for this test and are also CC BY-SA 4.0.
